The Lefkada Lentils is the only Greek variety with primordial seeds, self fertilized by 99%.
The Eglouvi Lentils are perhaps the best lentils in Greece. The lentils grown in Englouvi, the highest village of Lefkada, is a rare foodstuff, rich in biological value, with unique organoleptic and quality characteristics.
Τhe οriginal Eglouvi Lentils are small, uneven, easy to boil and when cooked, they smell wonderful!
Lentils in Egklouvi are still cultivated with the simple traditional way: 
They are not watered, not sprayed in any way. The weeding and picking is done by hand.
