Organic Chestnut Honey 450gr "FASSILIS", from the virgin chestnut forests in SE Peloponissos
The Chestnut Honey is collected from the nectar and the honey dews of the Chestnut (Castanea sativa) also known as “Queen of the mountain”, in the virgin forests of the Southeastern Peloponnese at an altitude of over 800m from early June until July.
Chestnut honey is a real feast of flavors. It is a unique type of honey less sweet than all the others with a slightly bitter taste. Its special aroma and its racy flavor make it distinguish..
After harvesting, the honey is packed into glass jars in the modern facilities of the Fasilis family. The whole process does not exceed one month from the time of harvest. Honey is then stored in dark and dry spaces, at low temperature, ready to be released for consumption.
