Pistachio from Aegina island is a unique product, classified as PDO (Protected Designation of Origin) since 1994 in order to be protected from any  unfair competition.

The Aegina pistachio is internationally recognized for its high quality and exceptional taste, due to the dry and warm climate of Aegina island. Key factors like the not so productive soil, semi irrigated cultivation, limited use of fertilizers, low humidity and moderate production result to a great pistachio, with high content of healthy substances. The sun drying procedure enhances dramatically the organoleptic properties of the Aegina pistachio.

Pistachios are described as a super, concentrated food. They belong to the few in number foods that, within small quantities, can provide energy, monounsaturated fatty acids, fiber, vitamins (especially the B vitamins), minerals and beneficial antioxidants. And even better, only with 170 calories in a 30gr portion!
