Kum Quat Marmalade from Corfu
Kumquat, classified to the Citruses, is a tree originating from South Japan and China. In Greece, kumquats are cultivated at Corfu. The fruit itself is very similar to the orange, but much smaller. Its name in chinese stands for "golden fruit".
The kumquat fruit is sweet and sour together and has a fantastic aroma. It can be eaten raw, but it is mostly turned into spoon sweet, marmalade or liqueur.
